Naiharn Beach is encompassed on both sides by rich jungle-covered mountains and a large Freshwater Lagoon. Never overloaded, even in high season, Nai Harn is usually busier at weekends as it is popular with both Thais and expats.

At the southern end of the beach a freshwater lagoon flows into the
sea, creating a stream that children love to play in . All year round the water is a comfortable 29°C. Flat lake-like crystal-clear water invites you for a dip November to May. From June to October on occasion there can be days where larger waves attract surfers and prevent swimming - however these days aren't very common. Sunbeds line the entire length of Nai Harn Beach. Sunbed vendors rent a set of two sunbeds, a table and an umbrella for 200 baht
per day. There are public toilets at the north end by the shops and the centrally located beach restaurants will usually allow you to use theirs for a small charge. Many tourists who come to Phuket never make it to this wonderful stretch of sand.
Another out-of-the way spot nearby - just North of Nai Harn, along the coast is the tiny beach of Ao Sane, a great spot for snorkeling, reached by taking the dirt road that starts at Le Royal Phuket Yacht Club car park. Further North is Nui Beach, small, secluded and difficult to access.
To the South lies Ya Nui Beach, a sandy cove that attracts snorkelers and divers. Further to the South in walking distance lies the famous Laem Phrom Thep Cape - not to be missed ! A promontory stretching into the sea and shaping the farthest south end of Phuket. Cape Phrom Thep is famous as a place to enjoy spectacular sunsets. The cape has tall cliffs from which one can see the fascinating coastline of Nai Harn Beach. One can walk out to where the breakers crash against the rocks below.
Rawai Beach
In a distance of about 2km from Naiharn you will find Phuket's "locals" beach - Rawai Beach. To Rawai one does not come for swimming, as the beach is not particularly suited for swimming. But exploring it while watt walking at low tide is another experience. You come to Rawai in the first place to eat - whether Thai or tourist!
